You can choose 1 out of the following techniques:
Embedment (Ages 8+)
Adding materials in the deckle can create unique paper results. Materials that can be embedded include bits of fabric, ribbon, threads, botanicals, and pictures. When you master this technique, you won’t even need to use glue!
Double Deckles (Ages 10+)
A deckle determines the shape and size of the sheet. When different edges are added to the papermaking screen, all sorts of functional items can be produced including envelopes, bookmarks, notecards, and paper baskets. Make papermaking just a little more functional by creating your own stationery!
Pulp Painting (Ages 10+)
Pulp can be decorated by using more pulp. In this activity, participants will learn methods for decorating their paper. Using a turkey baster or plastic squeeze bottle, participants will be able to form numbers, letters, scenes, or abstract patterns to enhance their homemade paper.
